5 Learning Hacks That Will Make Remembering Easy

The biggest issue for us these days is forgetting the essentials. We can’t blame the new technology for it. However, we can blame you for overusing it. But it’s not too late, though. We can be back to remembering things like our grandparents. These are the 5 Learning Hacks That Will Make Remembering Easy.

Why do we forget things?

Before we jump right into the learning hacks, you need to know why we wrote these tips and the answer to the question, why do we forget things.

As per the experts, nowadays, we spend so much time multitasking on Smartphones or PCs that our minds are growing what’s known as distracted “butterfly brains.” We also rely too much on search engines to search for things that we have eventually removed the habit of hardwiring our brains to remember things.

So what can you do never to forget anything? These expert-suggested hacks are easy to do and give 100% use with daily practice.

Write and say it out loud: Let’s start with the classical, traditional learning method. It is a fact that the moment you write something down (writing with pen or pencil and paper, and not typing it like we do these days), your brain begins working on remembering and making connections of the things you have written down.

Saying it out increases your chances of memorizing by 50%. You can also add fun to it by singing it out. A fun fact here is that your brain’s musical memory is stored in a different part, which helps in improving memory.

Say no to multitasking: Multitasking is for computer systems and not humans, especially students. When you do so, your brain goes haywire and is confused about where to focus the most. We have seen students nowadays with smartphones in one hand while studying, which is useless. Instead, try concentrating on one thing at a time.

For example, try putting your phone away when studying, we know it’s hard, but Ideal Education Point (New Choudhary Public School) believes that you can do it. We wish you all the best.

Use visual prompts: Do you know why children’s books have many pictures? It’s because it is easy to remember this way via visuals for little ones. If you apply the same method in your higher studies, you will get the same results. So, use videos, PPTs, pictures, etc., the next time you wish to remember an important topic.

Train your brain: Let us ask you, what do you do to get fitter and stronger? It’s gymming and exercising, the same way you need to do a mental exercise to enhance your brain’s mental and cognitive ability. NCPS Jaipur suggests puzzles such as Sudoku, crosswords, etc. However, use pen and paper for the same.

Get some exercise: Let’s get straight to the point, morning is the best time for exercise. We suggest running, walking, jogging, yoga, etc., as it’s simply beneficial for the brain (no science stuff here, if you expected it). You can even meditate to relax your brain whenever needed.

These were the five hacks that enhance remembering things. We hope you will use these tips to your full potential and will be able to remember things better from now on. Thanks for reading.
